Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I bought this book a little over a week ago and am already done with it. My boyfriend and I started out saying that we were going to take turns with it, reading a chapter at a time. We didn't realize, however, our different reading styles nor the fact that I have more time to read than he does. It didn't take long for him to tell me to just go ahead and read the book because without trying to, I was putting a little pressure on him to read faster. We will have to wait for our discussions on what we thought of the book until he is done, but it is so hard because of all that has happened in this book.

Ok....about the book! I am not going to give away the secrets here, although they are all over the internet already. I don't want someone to inadvertently read something they didn't want to read. I believe that this is the best book of the series. It might have to do with the fact that so many questions were answered and it was awfully exciting. I found that I just couldn't put the book down and when I did, I couldn't wait to get back to it. What an emotional roller coaster ride that book was!

At the end of the book, I was a little sad because it was the end of a great series. It was the same kind of bittersweet feeling that I felt as I watched the last of the Lord of the Rings movies, "Return of the King". It's amazing when works of fiction pull you into their world and you feel for the characters as you would your own friends and family. To me, the Harry Potter series is just like that.

All is well....

It's Harry Potter Day in my house!

I have been eagerly awaiting the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" even more so than my children, I believe. It have been deemed Harry Potter Day at my as we plan to not only attend the local Borders book release party (at which I put my order in for the book back in March) but also will go see the latest Potter movie "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".

I have stayed away from every source that could possibly give away the ending to this book and will stay as such until I get it read. I think it sucks that there are people out there that want to ruin the fun for everyone by releasing the book or give away the endings! I know that I am going to have to be careful though because as the legitimate copies come out, more and more people are going to want to give away secrets. I want to read the book as quickly as possible, but my man and I have decided to get one copy and read it a chapter or two at a time. Seeing that I have more time to read that he does, it is going to prove hard for me to want to read ahead.

Oh, well....we will see where my resolve is!

Happy Harry Potter Day!
P.S. Anyone that even thinks of posting the ending on the comments pages will find that I have disabled them for the time being...so ha ha on you!

Got Lazy....gained weight....working to get it off again

One of the things that I was most proud of was my weight loss from 165 pounds down to (at my least) 139 pounds. My routine consisted of a three times a week Bowflex routine, a daily 8 Minute Abs, and occasional aerobic activity, such as bike riding and walking. I watched what I ate by eating less carbohydrates and more proteins and ate very little sweets and fast food. I was feeling really good.

In the process of this life change I am going through, I have strayed from this routine. I am eating out more and not exercising as much. Although I have not gained a significant amount of weight (I am up to 145), I feel out of shape and flabby. I actually feel sluggish and icky. Today I decided to do something about it.

I started back on my 8 Minute Abs this morning and holy shit, did that hurt, but having used it in the past, I know that the routine works. I am also off to the grocery store to get the foods that I used to eat...yogurts, skim milk, wrap bread, etc. Tomorrow I will get the Bowflex out and get to that routine.

I can't wait to feel good again.
